How We Authenticate Luxury Bags

Authenticated luxury bags in the Philippines. Purse Maison authenticates every item before it is listed for sale. Our process combines an in-house inspection with third-party authentication where applicable, so clients can shop brand-new and preloved luxury with confidence.

Who authenticates our items?

Every item is reviewed by Purse Maison’s trained in-house authentication team before it is published. Where applicable, we also use independent third-party services, including Entrupy and LegitGrails for supported brands and items. The exact authentication route depends on the brand, model, age, materials, and available reference data.

What do we inspect?

Construction and stitching: stitch count, alignment, spacing, edge finishing, and overall craftsmanship.
Materials: leather grain, canvas, lining, texture, color, and aging consistent with the model and production era.
Hardware: engravings, weight, finish, shape, fasteners, feet, chains, and other hardware details.
Stamps, serials, and date codes: brand-specific stamps, serial numbers, date codes, holograms, microchips, or other identifiers where applicable.
Provenance and inclusions: receipts, boxes, dust bags, cards, locks, keys, straps, and other accessories supplied with the item.
Condition and alterations: repairs, replacements, refurbishment, odor, wear, and disclosed flaws that affect the item’s value or authenticity.

Authentication is model- and era-specific. No single detail is treated as proof on its own; the item is assessed as a whole against the manufacturer’s established standards and reliable reference points.

Examples by brand

Hermès

For Hermès pieces, we examine the leather and construction, saddle stitching, blind or date stamps, craftsman marks, hardware engravings and finish, shape, provenance, and inclusions. Checks vary by model, leather, hardware, and production year.

Chanel

For Chanel pieces, we examine quilting, leather, stitching, structure, hardware, serial stickers or microchips where applicable, series details, provenance, and inclusions. Vintage and newer microchip-era pieces require different reference checks.

Louis Vuitton

For Louis Vuitton pieces, we examine canvas or leather, heat stamps, date codes or microchips where applicable, stitching, hardware, glazing, construction, provenance, and inclusions.

Goyard

For Goyard pieces, we examine the canvas pattern and printing, structure, heat stamps, stitching, hardware, provenance, and model-specific construction details.

What happens if you have a question about an item?
